{"id":24563,"date":"2021-02-19T08:52:13","date_gmt":"2021-02-19T07:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/php8.plastv.de\/?p=24563"},"modified":"2021-02-19T14:21:45","modified_gmt":"2021-02-19T13:21:45","slug":"plastics-recyclers-europe-and-styrenics-circular-solutions-deepen-collaboration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/plas.tv\/?p=24563","title":{"rendered":"Plastics Recyclers Europe and Styrenics Circular Solutions deepen collaboration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reciprocal membership of the two organisations strengthens joint drive to accelerate the market pull for recycled polystyrene<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collaboration furthers\u00a0the objective\u00a0to fulfil the unique circularity capacity of\u00a0polystyrene<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsrecyclers.eu\/\">Plastics Recyclers Europe<\/a>\u00a0(PRE),\u00a0the\u00a0organisation\u00a0representing the voice of the European plastics recyclers\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/styrenics-circular-solutions.com\/\">Styrenics\u00a0Circular Solutions<\/a>\u00a0(SCS), the\u00a0value chain\u00a0initiative to increase the circularity of\u00a0styrenic\u00a0polymers, announced today\u00a0their\u00a0reciprocal membership.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration adds to the\u00a0network of\u00a0the\u00a0already existing\u00a0eleven\u00a0SCS members,\u00a0from across the value chain\u00a0and\u00a0to the\u00a0extensive\u00a0network of over 140\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsrecyclers.eu\/pre-members\">PRE members<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jens Kathmann,\u00a0Secretary-General\u00a0of SCS,\u00a0commented:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a\u00a0crucial\u00a0new membership for SCS.\u00a0Joining forces together with PRE,\u00a0which\u00a0represents\u00a0the individual\u00a0recyclers\u00a0across Europe,\u00a0will further accelerate the momentum that SCS has been building\u00a0to\u00a0create a strong market pull\u00a0away from incineration and landfill\u00a0towards\u00a0significantly increased\u00a0plastic-to-plastic\u00a0recycling of polystyrene.\u00a0Building\u00a0on\u00a0the excellent\u00a0sortability\u00a0and unique circularity of polystyrene,\u00a0our joint efforts will\u00a0extend\u00a0the\u00a0closed loop\u00a0food contact\u00a0recycling\u00a0beyond bottles\u00a0to new applications.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Antonino Furfari, Managing Director\u00a0of\u00a0PRE,\u00a0said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this\u00a0collaboration,\u00a0we want to drive\u00a0high-quality recycling for\u00a0styrenics\u00a0to be used back in high-end\u00a0applications,\u00a0including food contact.\u00a0This reciprocal membership\u00a0is\u00a0yet\u00a0another\u00a0important\u00a0step\u00a0of\u00a0joining forces\u00a0of the industry\u00a0towards making\u00a0all\u00a0plastics fully circular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>About Stryenics Circular Solutions<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Styrenics Circular Solutions is the value chain initiative to increase the circularity of styrenics.
