Sirmax Group increases its production capacity by investing 10 million euros <\/span>i<\/span>n <\/span>machinery in Europe and the USA<\/span> <\/span>
Sirmax consolidate<\/span>s<\/span> its partnership with Coperion, Maag and Brabender<\/span> Technologie<\/span> \u2013<\/span> market<\/span>–<\/span>leading brands <\/span>for<\/span> quality and technology<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>

Sirmax Group increases its production capacity with a <\/span> 10<\/span>–<\/span>million<\/span>–<\/span>euro<\/span> investment in high<\/span>–<\/span>end machinery. <\/span> The Cittadella<\/span>–<\/span>based Group<\/span> specializes in the <\/span>production of <\/span>polypropylene compounds, <\/span>engineering plastics<\/span>, post<\/span>–<\/span>consumer compounds, and bio<\/span>–<\/span>compounds for different applications. It has now consolidated its partnership with leading high<\/span>–<\/span>tech <\/span>equipment companies <\/span>Coperion, MAAG <\/span>and Brabender<\/span> Technologie<\/span>. <\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>
German bran<\/span>d <\/span>Coperion<\/span> is an industry leader in the production of <\/span>compounders<\/span> for thermoplastic <\/span>compounds. Sirmax has been working with Coperion for many years. <\/span> MAAG<\/span> Group<\/span>,<\/span> a Swiss <\/span>company with subsidia<\/span>ries in Germany, Italy, US, China, etc.<\/span>, specializes in the <\/span>production<\/span> of melt <\/span>pump<\/span>s, pelletizers and filters<\/span> for thermoplastic materials. <\/span>Brabender <\/span>Technologie<\/span> GmbH & Co. KG<\/span> develops and manufactures <\/span>feed<\/span>ing systems for a variety of materials, including polymers, additives, <\/span>and mineral fillers. <\/span> <\/span>

This <\/span> 10<\/span>–<\/span>million<\/span>–<\/span>euro<\/span> investment will lead to <\/span> a <\/span> 27,000<\/span>–<\/span>ton increase<\/span> in Sirmax Group’s production <\/span>capacity, which <\/span> translates to + 10% in Europe and + 15% in the United States. The new machines <\/span>will enable Sirmax to meet the market’s<\/span> increased demand for <\/span>engineering plastics<\/span> (ABS, PC, PCABS, <\/span>PA<\/span>6 and <\/span>PA66) and <\/span>polypropylene <\/span> compounds<\/span>,<\/span> which has grown by 50% and 26% respectively in <\/span>the first 9 months of 2021.<\/span> <\/span>

Six <\/span>compounders<\/span> were purchased in total, along with<\/span> their accompanying compon<\/span>ents. Three new <\/span>compounders<\/span> will boost production at the <\/span>second production <\/span>site in Kutno<\/span>, Poland (built in 2019), <\/span>and are intended for the consolidation and development of the plant. The <\/span> infrastructure <\/span> for the <\/span>production of TPEs (thermoplastic elastomers)<\/span> at the second Polish site was further enhanced with <\/span>the addition of a new automatic bagging system and two new heated silos for<\/span> technical oil. <\/span> <\/span>

The fourth <\/span>compounder<\/span> is destined for the <\/span>US plant in Indiana<\/span> (Sirmax North America), while the <\/span>remaining two <\/span> will be used for Research & Development activities. Of these, one will go <\/span> to the <\/span>Group\u2019s<\/span> headquarters <\/span>in <\/span>Cittadella<\/span> (Padua) <\/span>and <\/span>one <\/span>to <\/span>the <\/span>production <\/span>site <\/span>in <\/span>San <\/span>Vito <\/span>al <\/span><\/span>Tagliamento <\/span>(Pordenone),<\/span> where <\/span>specific <\/span>engineering <\/span>plastics<\/span> are <\/span>produced. <\/span>All <\/span>six<\/span> new<\/span> compounders<\/span> will be fully operational between February and September 2022.<\/span> <\/span>

Coperion, M<\/span>AAG and Brabender <\/span> Technologie<\/span> compounders<\/span> and equipment <\/span> will make for<\/span> simpler <\/span>and more effective scale<\/span>–<\/span>ups between production lines and R&D<\/span>. <\/span>Furthermore, the continuity with <\/span>these three suppliers makes it possible to share tech upgrades and to carry out im<\/span>plementation <\/span>tests that can lead to the creation of new products for Sirmax or new machinery for Coperion, MAAG <\/span>and Brabender<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Technologie<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>

This <\/span>10<\/span>–<\/span>million<\/span>–<\/span>euro<\/span> investment in machinery was made possible thanks to the incredibly positive <\/span>results recorded by the Group in the first nine months of 2021. Q3 saw a<\/span> 22% increase in sales <\/span>volumes compared to the same period in 2020, and <\/span> a<\/span> 19% <\/span> increase <\/span> compa<\/span>red to the first nine <\/span>months of 2019,<\/span> taking<\/span> the total expected turnover <\/span>to <\/span>450 million euros by the end of the year, up <\/span>from 315 million in 2020. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
