KB Components, acquire the assets of PM Plastics in Windsor

The Swedish based industrial group, KB Components, acquire the assets of PM Plastics in Windsor and establish its first production site in Canada/U.S.A. 

As a part of the reconstruction of the Vari-Form Group, llc. KB Components AB with David Ulrich have established KB Components Canada, inc. by acquiring the assets of PM Plastics Ltd. The new entity will have a turnover of 10 M USD and will employ app. 60 employees. The entire business is related to the automotive market and one of the major customers, Kautex, is already served from KB Components in China and Mexico.

Through the acquisition, the KB Group expands both its customer portfolio and its Global Footprint. ”Global presence is a necessity for many of our customers and through the establishment of KB Components Canada, we will offer production in Sweden, Lithuania, Slovakia, China, Mexico and Canada” says the President of KB Components, Stefan Andersson.” For PM Plastics customers the acquisition will create access to increased R&D resources, increased production capacity and technological know-how within automation and process control”.

The facility in Windsor, a part of the Detroit automotive industry, is running 20 injection molding machines up to 500t. David Ulrich has been appointed as General Manager/Sales Director and Paul Garant has been appointed as Operations Manager.

In relation with the acquisition the turnover of the KB Group will increase to 120 MEUR (135 MUSD) related to customers within light vehicles, heavy vehicles, furniture, lighting, medical, chrome plating and industry.
