Grupo Antolin opens a new factory in USA

Grupo Antolin, one of the largest manufacturers of vehicle interiors in the world, celebrated the opening of its new factory in Shelby (Michigan). With this new center, Grupo Antolin strengthens its industrial presence in USA.

Ernesto Antolin, Chairman of Grupo Antolin; Mark Hackel, Macomb County Executive; and Rick Stathakis, Shelby Township Supervisor, cut the ribbon on Grupo Antolin’s new manufacturing facility. Pablo Baroja, Nafta Region Director of Grupo Antolin, and Joseph McCluskey II, General Manager of Antolin Shelby, also participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The ceremony took place 19th of June at the factory located in Cherry Creek Industrial Park and was attended by authorities and representatives from the State of Michigan, the Macomb County and Shelby Township as well as employees from Antolin Shelby.

The new 368,000-square-foot facility houses high-tech manufacturing equipment to produce and sequence door panels and overhead systems for FCA’s Ram truck, one of the most popular vehicles in the United States.

“This production program is one of the largest in the history of the company and is an example of the trust placed in us by our customers. The United States offers enormous opportunities for Grupo Antolin if we can harness them and work hard as a team. The American market is key for us”, stated Ernesto Antolin, Chairman of Grupo Antolin.

The company has invested more than USD 70 million to create the plant with outstanding manufacturing efficiency, product quality, safety and environmental performance. The factory employs more than 800 people.

The opening of this new plant in Shelby is another step in the industrial consolidation of Grupo Antolin in this country, one of the world’s most important markets for the automotive sector. In 1994, Grupo Antolin founded its first production facility in Chicago and, nowadays, the company has 15 production centers and a workforce of 5,700 people.
