Solvay’s future Lyon business center unveiled

Taking customer and employee collaboration to the next level

Solvay will transfer its administrative support activities currently based in Ile-de-France and Lyon to the Part-Dieu business district in Lyon, at the heart of the French cluster for Chemistry. The move, planned for mid-2021, will assemble its France-based teams in world-class facilities in an enviable location, enabling close collaboration with the Group’s planned new research center based in Saint-Fons.

As from 2021, 700 Solvay employees currently based in Ile-de-France and Lyon will unite under one roof in a newly constructed SILEX² building, a space providing top-of-the-line facilities for both work and wellness. The site is also easily accessible to colleagues and customers alike, strategically located nearby air and rail transport, and positioned in the heart of the city.

“The choice of SILEX² reflects the dynamics and culture of our advanced materials and specialty chemicals Group, with a high-tech, ‘connected’ space that facilitates open exchanges with customers and supports new ways of working among the colleagues in our businesses and functions who are currently spread throughout downtown Paris, Aubervilliers and Lyon. This unification is a key step in Solvay’s transformation,“ says François.

With this new site, alongside an ambitious project to establish a global Innovation and Technology Center in Lyon, Solvay continues to reinforce its strategic anchoring in the Lyon region, where the Group expects to employ upwards of 2,100 people.
