Plant pots manufactured from plastic caps reinforce Braskem’s commitment with Circular Economy

In a partnership with Martiplast and ‘Tampinha Legal’ program, the company announces another advance based on recycled plastic to close the consumption cycle

Braskem, in a partnership with Martiplast and ‘ Tampinha Legal ‘ program (Nice Cap) launch the Cultivar line, from <Ou> brand, which counts on pots made from recycled plastic, thus demonstrating the whole chain capacity to work in favor of the circular economy , adding functionality, beauty and design to the final product. The project, which closes the plastic lids consumption cycle, and counts on the engagement of all links of this process, is already available to the market.

‘Tampinha Legal’ program starts the Project with the logistic of plastic caps used in bottles and destining them to recycling. The material, already sorted, goes to the recycler, which facilitates their return to the production chain as raw material, and then reaches the transformer that will produce the pots. The final product, traded by <Ou> brand, follows the motto “Recycle your ideas. Your attitude makes the difference!”

According to Tampinha Legal coordinator Simara Souza, the program proposes actions to change mass behavior, in order to encourage the correct destination of plastic materials. Through this partnership, we can experience circular economy in practice. We want people to see the wonders we can create with the caps, and understand the relevance of their attitudes helping the plastic return to the industry, with benefits for all”, she says.

Fabiana Quiroga, Braskem’s Circular Economy and Recycling director, explains that the company seeks to promote the sustainable cycle of plastic products by means of partnerships like this one, joining industry, brand owners and society in favor of the structuring of the recycling chain as a whole. “We are very pleased with this launching, we support Tampinha Legal for some years and <Ou> is an old Braskem’s partner. The pots made from recycled material demonstrate the value of plastic waste when correctly disposed, thus facilitating their return to the production cycle. The partnership reinforces our belief that change requires the participation of all”, she claims.

According to Vinicius Martini, <Ou> brand Product Head, circular economy is the answer to a world that demands more conscious consumption, and the transformation industry must be positioned as protagonist in this process. He also emphasizes that the partnership seeks to strengthen ‘Tampinha Legal’ and support its educational and socio-environmental nature, helping charity entities and shaping a correct culture on plastic potential. “Our brand seeks to transform people’s lives by delivering products with color, beauty and design. Demonstrating that it is possible to do so with recycled material from a noble program like Tampinha Legal makes us increasingly believe in positively impacting our consumers’ lives”, he adds.
