bio!TOY – Sustainable Plastic Toys Event

Biobased and circular polymers for sustainable toys

7-8 September 2021, Nuremberg „Toy City“, Germany

Plastics are the most commonly used materials for toys. Both toy makers and plastic raw material suppliers have started to develop and market products made from circular and biobased materials. The use of renewable raw materials from biomass instead of fossil resources is increasing for many good reasons, and this holds true for circular materials where recycled content is replacing virgin polymers. Scientists, businesses and policy makers acknowledge both approaches as fundamental solutions to combat climate change and advance a circular economy. The civil society, both children and adults, is calling for action. Therefore, it is not a trend but an ongoing fundamental change, and the many players of both industries are challenged to position themselves short and long term.
The second edition of the bio!TOY conference will showcase what has been achieved so far and what is to come in the nearer future. The presentations and exhibits will give an up-to-date overview of sustainable polymer and toy innovation. Speakers from leading industries and brands as well as innovators from smaller businesses and technology experts are part of this two-day business conference organized by the bioplastics MAGAZINE and narocon Innovation Consulting. An accompanying table top exhibition, networking breaks and a social evening will enable inspiring individual talks.

The event which will bring together professionals from the plastic toy supply chain has been produced as a hybrid event, taking place in Nuremberg, Germany and online on 7+8 September. Information about the program and the possibilities to get involved as well as the hygiene concept are available at www.bio-toy.info.
