Although the business cycle was lower during most of the second half of 2019, Polykemi AB continued to deliver very positive results. Both in terms of growth and the number of new businesses.
– Once again, Polykemi shows that it is possible to grow and expand locally in southeastern Skåne, Sweden, says Polykemi’s sales manager Mattias Persson.
During the past five years, the Polykemi Group, which includes the companies Polykemi AB, Rondo Plast AB and Scanfill AB based in Ystad and Polykemi Compounds Kunshan in China and Polykemi Inc in the USA, has seen volume growth of almost 22,000 tonnes and in 2019 the positive trend continued.
– Although we can see a slowdown in the business cycle, Polykemi has had a very nice year, says Mattias Persson.
– We have taken more than 100 new businesses and we have grown more than 4,000 tonnes of plastic granules during the year. It´s incredibly gratifying that, despite historically high levels, we are once again able to match our numbers.
With the heart in Ystad since 1968
Since 1968, we have been successful in manufacturing high-quality custom-made plastic compounds. Our subsidiary Rondo Plast has been supplying high-quality recycled plastic material for almost 40 years.
– Within Polykemi Group we offer plastic compounds based on new raw materials, as well as high quality recycled plastic raw materials, which means that we have a solid concept in our company. This also means that we feel confident about the future, continues Polykemi’s sales manager.
Sweden is the largest single market for the Polykemi Group with 25 percent of sales volume, the remaining 75 percent is exported to Europe and the rest of the world.
– We feel a huge pride that we have had our headquarters in Ystad for more than 50 years and that we show that it is possible to grow and expand locally in southeastern Skåne, says Mattias Persson.
– We have a fantastic staff, with its incredible teamwork allows us to continue delivering positive results year after year.
